A year ago, as my husband and I closed out 2019 with an evening of prayer and worship, the Lord released a powerful word. I did not realize at the time that He was revealing both the problem and the solution that was ahead of us in 2020. Only as the year unfolded did this word begin to make more sense. I am sharing this as we close out 2020 to give testimony to the One who sees the end from the beginning and faithfully goes before us preparing the way and providing everything we need. The word began with a visual. In my spirit I saw a large snake - it had all the markings of a boa constrictor. It was as if I was above the earth and I could see it slithering all throughout the United States. The vision persisted for quite some time with the snake moving steadily throughout the nation and appearing to grow in size. I asked the Lord what He was revealing and I received the following:
"Satan has had his way in this nation for a season because I allowed it. He does not supercede My sovereignty. My purposes are being accomplished. I still stand and reign supreme over this nation. Proclaim My goodness and authority to this land!"
This was followed by a powerful word of encouragement to the Church:
"I am about to release an explosion of JOY!! I am with you! I am with you! I have not forsaken you. Turn to Me. I will strengthen you. The road ahead is steep. I will give you the strength that is needed to arise and ascend My holy mountain! I am inviting you to new heights so you will have a new perspective. You will see what I see, My vision for 2020 and beyond."
The meaning and significance of the snake is much clearer as we look back on 2020. As its name implies, the boa constrictor grabs its prey and constricts it, shutting off blood flow to vital organs, until the victim is dead. The entire globe has been under a death grip of constriction throughout most of 2020 - a virus that targeted primarily the lungs, making it extremely difficult to breathe; constrictions on travel, gathering, business, speaking or even singing. Fear gripped our nation and was escalated by devastating riots, governmental upheaval and uncertainty regarding the ability of our economic system to survive all of this.
But God! Jehova Jireh - the God who looks ahead, sees the need and provides! The enemy does not surpass His sovereignty and the Lord's purposes are being accomplished! Throughout 2020 and, as we move into 2021, the Lord is calling His Church to partner with Him in establishing His purposes in the earth. On 3/10/2020, I received the following word:
"Wait for My Spirit. I will pour it out and you will move in power. I am preparing you for even greater needs and works."
This came in response to prayer that was being lifted that night for our nation and other nations as Covid-19 was beginning to spread around the globe. This was just days before the United States would begin to initiate lock-downs all over the nation. As we continued to pray, the Lord went on to reveal that He would work through this crisis, (the physical Covid-19 virus and the virus of fear), to train His Church how to handle future issues that will arise. This pouring out of His Spirit will contain supernatural healing, practical wisdom and strategies for spiritual warfare. He has designated His Church as His "essential workers" and it is essential that we wait for His Spirit.The assignments ahead will be impossible without His empowering grace.
If He has promised to release an explosion of His joy to the Church, we should first expect an explosion of His presence! Press into the secret place with Him like never before! This is where the strategies, the joy and the subsequent strength needed to carry them out will be supplied. He is not looking for the most qualified, just the most willing.
Lord God Almighty, You stand and reign supreme over all things and we proclaim Your goodness and authority over this land and all the earth!
"For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,
As the waters cover the sea!" (Habakkuk 2:14)
Moses said, ‘Please. Let me see your Glory.’ God said, ‘I will make
my Goodness pass right in front of you; I’ll call out the name, God, right before you.’” (Ex 33:18-19a)
Let the whole earth
be filled with His glory!
